Back in 2019, the Duke of Sussex offered some very personal advice to those who survived the terror attacks in Tunisia in 2015. One of the survivors has now spoken out about his encounter with Prince Harry.

Owen Richards, who was 15 when he survived the horrific 2015 terror attacks in Tunisia, has now opened up about how Prince Harry helped him cope with the loss of three family members. Back in 2019, Richards met the Duke at an unveiling of a monument to the victims in Birmingham.

Five years ago this month, Richards' uncle, brother and grandfather were shot dead along with 35 other tourists in a horrific massacre.

Prince Harry "said I must talk about what happened"

The Mirror reports that Owen Richards met Prince Harry at the unveiling last year, and it was an emotional moment for him: "He [Prince Harry] gave me some advice. He said I must talk about what happened. He said he knew personally, because when he lost his mum, he didn't."

"It was a bit weird when he said, 'when my mum was killed', because she’s not just any mum – she’s Princess Diana. It seemed like he was trying to give some advice rather than have a meaningless conversation."

Owen gave a speech at the unveiling and chatted with the Duke of Sussex again afterwards: "I was nervous but Harry nodded during my speech. Mum and I had a teddy from our charity Smile for Joel – named after my brother – which we gave to him for his wife who was pregnant."
