Prince Harry Shares Video From Los Angeles Home For International AIDS Conference
In a new video for the 23rd International AIDS Conference, Prince Harry shares the importance of "resilience" from his Los Angeles mansion! Find out what he said on the topic!
Prince Harry is using his voice to encourage others to speak out!
As Hello! reports, Harry made an appearance in a new video message on Tuesday. The video, which was filmed for the Opening Ceremony of the 23rd International AIDS Conference, sees Harry talking about why "resilience" is such an important quality to have.
Harry says that resilience "has been felt and fostered for decades"
Harry filmed his message from outside the Beverly Hills mansion he and Meghan Markle are currently living in with their son, Archie, showing off the leafy green scenery. As previously reported, the property used to be owned by Tyler Perry.
"This year's theme is resilience, something all of us around the globe have understood the need for it, specifically over recent months," Harry said during the virtual opening ceremony. "And for many, digging deep to find that resilience has been a challenging experience."
"But for those affected by HIV and AIDS, the examples of resilience within oneself and within the community has been felt and fostered for decades," he continued. "At Sentebale, we see the resilience of young people every single day, which is why I've been inspired each day since founding the non-profit organisation with Prince Seeiso in 2006."
Harry speaks on how youth "not only push back, but bounce back"
Harry and Prince Seeiso's founding of Sentebale in 2006 came just a few short years after Harry took a gap year trip. As Hello! mentions, Harry spent a few months in Lesotho, southern Africa, in 2004. Sentebale aims to provide youth struggling with HIV and poverty with support and resources.
"As you're about to see, these young people are willing to speak out against injustice, be role models to their peers, support HIV prevention and challenge limiting systems in the hope of a more inclusive and accepting environment for all," Harry continued in his video message.
"And when they face setbacks, they not only push back, but they bounce back. They are resilience personified. We all succeed when they are empowered and I want to share some of their voices with you."
