Sir David Attenborough made a special stop-in at Kensington Palace this week.

Prince William hosted Attenborough for a private garden screening of the natural historian's new film David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have now shared photos of the meeting, which included an appearance by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The mysterious photo was then followed by the big reveal: Attenborough visited the Kensington Palace gardens for a film screening with Prince William. Of the two men, the palace wrote: "With a shared passion for protecting the natural world, they continue to support one another in their missions to tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges our planet faces."

William and Kate's children also joined in for photos with the legendary 94-year-old — with Princess Charlotte especially appearing starstruck. The three photos below show (1) the family-of-five with Attenborough, (2) Prince George holding a shark's tooth gifted by the famed narrator, and (3) a shot of the outdoor film screening.

On Instagram, the royals were also able to tag Sir David Attenborough, who only just recently joined the photo-sharing platform. The popular star has already amassed over 4 million followers after sharing a first post earlier this week.

In the posts covering the meeting, it was added that Prince William and Sir David will collaborate on the Earthshot Prize, described as "the most prestigious global environment prize in history." Details will follow in the coming weeks, they say.

As of September, Prince William and Duchess Kate are back at their Kensington Palace home, after months away at Anmer Hall during the pandemic. Their most recent outing came on Sept. 15, when they visited several locations around London.
