Princess Diana: An Insider Claims She Never Wanted To Separate From Charles
Lady Diana suffered a lot during her marriage to Prince Charles, so much so she even wrote a biography about this time in her life. Nevertheless, the Royal never had the thought to separate from her husband. The reason why is absolutely heartbreaking...
Prince Charles' (71) and Lady Diana's marriage was anything but scandal-free. Nevertheless, it never occurred to the princess to separate from her husband, Prince Charles. At least that's what a Royal Insider report has said.
Another person to attest to that statement is Jenni Rivett, Lady Di's former fitness trainer, who accompanied her daily for seven years. In an interview with the Yahoo series "The Royal Box" she revealed that Lady Diana had never divorced Prince Charles.
Lady Diana was not happy in her marriage to Prince Charles
It is a fairly well-known fact that Lady Diana was not happy in her marriage to Prince Charles. "As she said in her own words, she was always the third person, there were three people in her marriage. Deep down inside, she was very sad about that," said Rivett.
This refers to Diana's rival Camilla Parker Bowles. She caused problems throughout their marriage: Charles was always attracted to Camilla, even admitting at some point that the rumors of an affair were true - which meant that Lady Di had to live with that knowledge. Yet, she never wanted to leave Prince Charles.
Royal Insider on Lady Diana: "She loved Charles"
"It wasn't what she wanted. She wanted to be a loving mother, which she was - and a loving wife. [...] Given the choice, she would have stayed and tried to make a happy marriage. She loved Charles," Rivett said in the interview.
Although Lady Diana wished for nothing more than a happy marriage with Prince Charles and thus escape the fate of her parents, reality was quite different. Charles and Diana announced their separation in 1992 and were divorced four years later.
Charles' proposal was an indication of what was to come
Charles' proposal to Princess Diana could have already been an indication for Lady Diana that her marriage was off to a bad start. Because what the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II (93) did after he proposed, was strong indication of their marriage falling apart in the future.
Prince Charles is said to have neither taken his fiancée in his arms nor to have celebrated with her after he asked for her hand in marriage. As a biographer reports in a documentary, the heir to the throne reached directly for the phone to call the Queen and report to her.
