This week, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank were given a sweet honour as a wildlife park in Australia named some baby koalas after them! Eugenie shared photos and video of the two, and the couple is said to be "dying to come back out" to see the koalas in person. Find out more here!

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank recently received quite a unique honour! As People shares, on Monday, the Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park revealed that they were naming two of their new baby koalas after the royal couple, and Eugenie took to social media to share her enthusiasm!

Eugenie shared a post from the wildlife park to her Instagram story, "These two little baby koala's are living safely at @featherdalewildlifepark in a wonderful habitat after the devastating bushfires earlier this year," she wrote. "And we are honoured that they have been named after Jack and I."

The royal shared photos of both koala joeys, as well as a fun video of the one named after her! "Eugenie's a bit cheeky...winking to the world," she said, along with a video of "Eugenie" the koala winking at the camera.

Eugenie and Jack "dying to come back out" to wildlife park

Eugenie and Jack are said to be "massive supporters" of the Australian wildlife park and their animal rescue initiative, which makes it unsurprising that they would want to name a pair of animals after them! The director of the Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park, Chad Staples, said that the couple is eager to visit the koalas once they're able to make the trip down under.

"They're dying to come back out, obviously when everyone can travel again," Staples said. As People mentions, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got up close with a koala when they paid a visit to the Taronga Zoo in 2018 during their royal tour of Australia! Four years before Harry and Meghan's trip, Prince William and Duchess Kate visited the zoo— and Kate even had the chance to pet a koala!

Eugenie and Jack have mostly been spending quarantine with Eugenie's parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew. The royal couple was recently spotted at Balmoral last month paying a socially distanced visit to the queen. And as People shares, they've also been seen out with British singer Ellie Goulding and her husband, Casper Jopling, on a double date! Hopefully one of the next visits Eugenie and Jack will be able to make is a trip to go and see the koalas themselves!
