WATCH: The Royal Family Comes Together To Thank Nurses Around The World
The British royal family came together in a joint video message on Monday to celebrate nurses all over the world on International Nurses Day. Have a look at the emotional clip below!
What a sight for sore eyes in these trying times! The senior members of the royal family all came together for an emotional video message in which they thanked nurses all over the world for their hard and amazing work, especially in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The occasion: Tuesday marked International Nurses Day!
The video was released on Duchess Catherine and Prince William's official Instagram account (as well as on Twitter) and features the Cambridges, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne, Prince Charles with Duchess Camilla as well as Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who has been branded the "secret weapon" of the royal family after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal exit.
Duchess Kate: "A huge thank you from us all"
The clip starts out with Her Majesty the Queen thanking Professor Kathleen McCourt, president of the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation, for the bravery and dedication of the entire nursing profession and then cuts to Prince Charles who says. "[...]my family and I want to join in the chorus of thank you to nursing and midwifery staff all over the country, and indeed the world."
The main part of the video sees Princess Anne, Duchess Kate and Sophie Wessex chatting with nurses from Australia, India, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Bahamas, Cyprus, Tanzania and the UK. What a great way to celebrate all the tireless efforts done by all those belonging to such an essential (and sometimes underappreciated) profession.
