The Cambridge Family Has Bonded Over This Wholesome Hobby In Lockdown
The Cambridge children have taken to work in the chicken coop with their mum, Duchess Kate, during life in lockdown. A new report has revealed that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have "great interest" in collecting the eggs, which the family then uses in the kitchen. Find out more about what the family is up to at Anmer Hall, where they've been living during lockdown.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have a summer of chicken coop work ahead of them — and they couldn't be happier about it. The three Cambridge children have bonded with their mother, Kate Middleton, over the hands-on hobby at Anmer Hall, the family's country home in Norfolk.

The children's daily hobby was revealed in a report in The Sun. "Kate and the children are out daily in the hen house, collecting fresh eggs in their baskets, and the eggs are then used in the kitchen almost immediately," a source told the outlet.
"Kate and the children have a well laid out chicken coop, and a safe fox-proof chicken house, filled with healthy food and feeding treats," the source added. "Organic self-sufficiency is the name of the game with the Cambridges."
The report also pointed to the royal family's well-known "chicken lover," Prince Charles. The Prince of Wales would no doubt be proud of his grandchildren's newfound passion, seeing as he has his own chicken flock.
"Charles is the all-time chicken lover, and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of most breeds and knows how to rear them. 'Cluckingham Palace' is what his house is sometimes called," the source said.
The Cambridge family bonds in the kitchen, too
Earlier this week, Kate made the light-hearted revelation that she feels like a "constant feeding machine" for the kids. But it turns out that they do play a role in getting food on the table with their egg collecting activity at Anmer Hall.
Likewise, Prince William has reflected on his family's kitchen bonding during lockdown while speaking casually during post-lockdown outings. There will be plenty more time for work in the hen house and kitchen too, as the children just finished up with homeschooling for the summer months. The Cambridges have resided at Anmer Hall—their wedding gift from the Queen—throughout the lockdown period.
