Duchess Kate was granted new title

The Duchess of Cambridge was granted the title of Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victoria Order (GCVO). The awards in the Royal Victorian Order are for services to the Queen and were first created by Queen Victoria in 1896 to reward those who performed services on her behalf.

The award demonstrates just what a good relationship Kate has with William's family. The Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne and the Countess of Wessex have also all received one during their lifetimes.

it is no surprise that Kate has received a new title. She is patron of numerous charities and works tirelessly in aid of various good causes. The Queen doesn't just appreciate Kate for all her hard work though, they have a close bond, and Kate gave her daughter Charlotte the middle name Elizabeth.
