A source has told The Sun that "from the early days, the Queen really wanted to agree a smooth transition for Meghan." Noting that the offer for them to have the freedom to live without the Duke and Duchess titles would have allowed Meghan to continue with her acting career.
Royal officials are frustrated
However, she was apparently happy to quit her career and become a working member of the British Royal Family. "Royal officials were frustrated that she and Harry now appear to be saying they were pressured into quitting royal life," the source stated to The Sun.

With the historic royal exit from Harry and Meghan that officially happened on Saturday January 18 when the Queen and Buckingham Palace made an official statement outlining the details of their new chapter. Harry and Meghan are now in Canada and hoping to start a new life there splitting their time between the United Kingdom and North America.
