Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday ceremony was held on Saturday, June 13. The usual Trooping the Colour event was cancelled, but Her Majesty was still honoured all the same. See the best pictures below!

The Queen's official birthday — held annually on the second Saturday of June — was celebrated under unique circumstances over the weekend.

Trooping the Colour 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so, instead, the day was marked by a reduced ceremony that observed social distancing guidelines.

Regardless, Her Majesty appeared delighted to attend and observe the grand event held in her honour.

In lieu of the typical military parade and family gathering at Buckingham Palace, Her Majesty was treated to a performance at Windsor Castle by the marching band of the Household Division.

For the event, she was protected under a canopy built on the walk of Windsor Castle, from which she watched the parade on the castle grounds.

During the ceremony, the soldiers took up a modified formation that maintained a social distance of six feet around each man.

As People reports, the Queen stood for the first five minutes of the performance before taking in the serenade from a chair.

The ceremony began at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and lasted for approximately 20 minutes. Her Majesty once again rose to her feet during the band's final march before she returned inside Windsor Castle.

The Queen's official birthday celebration usually sees the Royal Family attend the event and take in an overhead flypast from the Buckingham Palace balcony.

This year, however, the flypast was cancelled and the 94-year-old monarch enjoyed the festivities solo.
