This is where Kate lived before marrying Prince William
Before Duchess Catherine married Prince William, the thirty-seven-year-old had already called several exotic places home. Carry on reading to find out where they were...
Last year Prince William (36) and his wife Duchess Catherine (37) made headlines when it was announced that they would be moving from rural Norfolk to London. The move last summer was however, by no means the first one for stylish royal Kate.
Duchess Catherine Spent Some of her Childhood in Jordan
Kate spent the first few years of her life life with her parents, Carol (64) and Michael Middleton (69), and her siblings, Pippa (35) and James (31), in a country house in Berkshire, England.
The family moved to Jordan due to her father's work for British Airways and lived there from 1984 to 1987. After returning to the United Kingdom, Duchess Catherine attended the Marlborough mixed-sex boarding school in Wiltshire.
Art History and Italian Courses in Florence
Hardly any other European country has more to offer in terms of art and history than Italy. And so, before becoming a royal, Duchess Catherine moved to Florence to take courses in Italian and Art History when she was just eighteen. The now thirty-six-year-old spent three months in the city that houses THE museum for Renaissance art, the magnificent Uffizi Gallery, studying at the British Institute of Florence.
Finding her Great Love in Scotland
Even though when one thinks of Italy, one thinks of dashing, dark-haired men on Vespas, Kate did not meet the love of her life there. Instead, she met and fell in love with her future husband, Prince William, while studying Art and History at the renowned University of St. Andrews.
First Job in London
After graduating, Duchess Catherine's first job was as an accessory buyer for the British fashion label Jigsaw, which is why she moved to London.
She lived with her sister Pippa in a beautiful flat in Chelsea that her parents had bought for them. After marrying Prince William, Duchess Catherine moved to Anglesey, an island of the Welsh coast.
After all that moving about, it seems that the Duchess is now well and truly settled in London!
