William and Kate Reveal Their Parenting Struggles During Lockdown
In a new interview with the BBC, Prince William and Kate Middleton opened up about life with their children while under lockdown. Here's what they've found challenging!
Prince William and Duchess Kate are learning how to navigate family life during the coronavirus pandemic! As Hello! reports, the royal couple recently shared with the BBC that there are certain elements of the situation that they've found challenging.
With their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis constantly around, William and Kate have found themselves becoming even more involved in their lives— which can sometimes lead to uncharted territory.
Kate shares the "ups and downs" of parenting in lockdown
Kate candidly admitted that her family's experience in lockdown has had its "ups and downs" as they adjust to their new circumstances. She also mentioned that she feels it's important for her children to understand the situation surrounding the coronavirus, despite the fact that they're still relatively young.
"George is much older than Louis is, but they are aware, I'm always surprised," Kate shared. "And although you don't want to scare them and make it too overwhelming, I think it is appropriate to acknowledge it in the simple ways and age-appropriate ways".
William and Kate have been continuing to educate their kids
Prince William and Duchess Kate are currently homeschooling their children, which the couple said has been "fun". However, Kate said that she feels like it's "mean" of them to have kept up Prince George and Princess Charlotte's lessons, which have been in the form of online learning, throughout the Easter holidays!
"The children have got such stamina I don't know how," Kate said. "Honestly, you get to the end of the day and you write down the list of all the things that you've done in that day. So you pitch a tent, take the tent down again, cook, bake. You get to the end of the day - they have had a lovely time - but it is amazing how much you can cram into one day that's for sure".
William and Kate keeping in touch with family through video
William said that their family has been communicating with the rest of the royal family and Kate's parents through Zoom video calls. "I think your father [Prince Charles] and my parents and our families and things like that have really loved keeping in touch with the children because it’s really hard," Kate shared. "It gets a bit hectic, I am not going to lie, with a [nearly] two-year-old".
The couple's youngest son Louis has apparently been causing a little bit of mischief during their video calls with family, according to his dad. "For some reason he sees the red button and he always wants to press the red button," William revealed.
