Bill Murray will reprises his role as "Peter Venkman" for the upcoming movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which will serve as a sequel to the 1989's Ghostbusters 2. Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson are also appearing in the new movie playing their original roles!

It's really happening! 30 years after Ghosbusters 2, Bill Murray (69) will once again play the role of parapsychologist "Peter Venkman" in the upcoming sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Murray revealed this in a recent interview with Vanity Fair in which he talked about life on the set of the new movie, which will be directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the original film in 1984.

Unfortunately, the fourth member of the original Ghostbusters, Harold Ramis ("Dr. Egon Spengler") passed away in 2014. "Well, we are a man down. That's the deal," Murray said to Vanity Fair. "And that's the story that we’re telling, that’s the story they've written."

Although not too much has been explained about the new movie's plot, the trailer below gives a decent idea on how director Jason Reitman intends to explain Ramis' death.

The film follows single mother "Callie" (Carrie Coon) and her two children "Phoebe" (Captain Marvel's Mckenna Grace) and "Trevor" (Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things) as they move to Oklahoma where they have inherited an old farmhouse from "Callie's" father.

The children soon find some artifacts belonging to their grandfather, which is - we can say with 94% certainty - the late "Dr. Egon Spengler", and show them to their teacher "Mr. Grooberson", played by Paul Rudd, and the story takes off from there...

Ghostbusters: Afterlife opens in theaters July 10 in the US as well as in the UK.
