'Blue Bloods' and 'SEAL Team' Set To Resume Filming New Seasons On CBS
Blue Bloods and SEAL Team have received the go-ahead to resume production on their new seasons. The two CBS series were among the last to be held back, while the network's studio has moved forward with productions following a nearly six-month delay during the pandemic. Read on for all the details on Blue Bloods season 11 and SEAL Team season 4.
Blue Bloods and SEAL Team fans can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The two popular CBS series were among the last to remain off set and unscheduled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But the network has now given them both the go-ahead for returns, according to Deadline. New season premieres aren't set at this time, but it's thought that both shows will begin filming toward the end of September or early October.
Blue Bloods season 11 will return soon following COVID-19
Both Blue Bloods and SEAL Team had their respective TV seasons conclude multiple episodes early due to the early outbreak of COVID-19 back in March. As a result, Blue Bloods had its 19th episode act as the season 10 finale, while SEAL Team did the same with its 20th — though both shows typically run for 22 episodes per season.
Other hit CBS series such as NCIS and its L.A. spin-off previously received early September return-to-production dates. Deadline reports that such restart plans depend on the implementation of proper "COVID-19 safety protocols." The outlet added that plans for the "signature family dinner scene" in Blue Bloods remain unclear in the era of socially-distanced film sets.
CBS enters Fall 2020 without NCIS, Blue Bloods
On Aug. 26, CBS unveiled its revised Fall 2020 TV line-up, which opens on Sept. 9 without its many usual scripted series. Reality TV, game shows, and a new season of The Amazing Race are among the programs to premiere while shows such as Blue Bloods and SEAL Team are readied over the next few months.
Further new CBS season news broke earlier this week, when it was revealed that longtime Mom star Anna Faris had exited the sitcom ahead of season 8.
