"Dallas" star Victoria Principal today
Dallas is one of the most iconic soap operas ever produced. Victoria Principal became an international star as "Pamela Barnes Ewing", when she married "Bobby Ewing" while the show was live on air. It's been more than three decades since she left the series, so what has Victoria been up to since then?
Without a doubt, it was thanks to her role in Dallas that Victoria Principal became a household name. Principal (68) played "Bobby Ewing's" wife from 1978 until 1987. Due to their tragic love story, which bore many similarities to Shakespear's Romeo and Juliet, Pamela Ewing quickly became a fan favourite and was even nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in 1983. After ten hugely successful seasons, she left the show to pursue other projects.
Actress turned businesswoman
After Dallas, Principal went on to have numerous guest-roles in series such as Home Improvement and Hawaii Five-0. She also started her own production company, Victoria Pricipal Productions, which became a key player in the made-for-TV movie market. Ever entrepreneurial, Vicotria soon moved on to another project close to her heart and founded her beauty empire Principal Secret Skincare in the early nineties. According to People Magazine, her company turns over an average yearly revenue of around 100 million Dollars.
Businesswoman turned philanthropist
Principal has also become a well-known activist, campaigning for diverse causes from environmental ones to domestic violence. She donated a large sum to the victims of hurricane Harvey, which hit Louisiana back in 2016. In addition to her charity efforts, Principal is also a part of Victory over Violence, an organisation that helps victims of domestic violence nationwide.
Victoria Principal has been divorced twice and has no children.
