After the news was announced earlier this week that longtime Dancing with the Stars hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews are exiting the show ahead of the 29th season, fans were patiently awaiting some answers about a new host. The wait is now over as fashion model Tyra Banks has been announced as the new host of the reality TV dance competition show!

Dancing with the Stars is heading into its 29th season on ABC and fans were sad to hear about the departure of hosts Tom Bergeron, who has been hosting the show since it began in 2005, and Erin Andrews who has been co-hosting for the last six seasons. In a new statement from the show's Twitter account, the new host has been revealed!

Dancing with the Stars welcomes Tyra Banks, model, producer, host, actress, and author, as the new host of the show. In a statement to ET, Tyra said, "I've been a fan of Dancing With the Stars since its beginning. The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances ... it's always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk."

DWTS: Erin Andrews Breaks Silence on Exit From Show

Many fans reacted to the news of Tom and Erin's exit noting how much they will miss seeing them on the show every week. Erin Andrews broke her silence on the news one day later thanking ABC for the opportunity as well as "the entire Dancing With the Stars family for six memorable seasons."

We don't know much more about the upcoming season of DWTS as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has put a halt to most reality television productions around the world. We do know, however, that former Bachelorette Katilyn Bristowe will be a contestant and we absolutely can't wait for that!
