"Grease" star Stockard Channing today

Stockard Channing as "Betty Rizzo" in the 1978 musical movie sensation Grease.

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John may be the first names that spring to mind when one thinks of the film Grease, but without Lorenzo Lamas and Stockard Channing's help, the film would never have achieved its cult-classic status. I's been almost forty years since the beautiful Stockard Channing wowed audiences in Grease, but she is still an in-demand film and theatre actress.

Stockard Channing (74) became a household name when she played "Betty Rizzo" in Grease. Starring alongside Olivia Newton-John (69), John Travolta (64) and Lorenzo Lamas (60) she became an A-lister overnight. It's been forty years since Grease was first released, but Stockard Channing has stayed true to the film industry.

Stockard Channing is still going strong

Stockard Channing has played a wide variety of roles throughout her career. There isn't an award that she hasn't been nominated for! Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys... you name it, she's been nominated for one at least once. Channing is also a much-loved face on Broadway and has won a Tony Award for her performance in the play Joe Egg. Channing has been in a relationship with cinematographer Daniel Gillham for over two decades and they live in Maine together. She recently played Elizabeth in the TV show Urban Myths and Jill in The Guest Book

Stockard Channing is still a successful actress
