Hawaii Five-0 has been on the air since 2010 and is an extremely popular show. But did you know all these trivia facts about Hawaii Five-0?! 

Ever since 2010, the 'new' Hawaii Five-0 has been on the air at CBS and the fan base has been growing steadily. But did you know that Hawaii Five-0 is actually a remake? The original show went on the air in 1968 and it also dealt with a special police task force fighting organized crime in Hawaii. Exactly 42 years later, the Hawaii Five-0 remake celebrated its premiere on September 20th 2010. Another fact: The name of the show makes total sense: Hawaii is the 50th state of the U.S.A., hence the word Five-0 in the title!

The character "Kono Kalakaua", played by Grace Park, was supposed to be in her mid-twenties. But did you know that the actress herself was already in her mid-thirties when she played the role? Her character was also supposed to be younger than "Steve McGarret", who is still portrayed by Alex O'Loughlin. In real life, Grace Park is actually two years older than her popular co-star.

Daniel Dae Kim actually was the first actor to be cast for the show. Then came Alex O'Loughlin, Grace Park and finally Scott Caan.

In the opening credits of the pilot, the camera zooms in on "Steve McGarrett" standing on a balcony. This is actually is the very same balcony on which Jack Lord stood as the original "Steve McGarrett" in the opening credits of the original Hawaii Five-0 in 1968.
