Joaquin Phoenix, who played the iconic role of "Arthur Fleck" in the recently released Joker film and has now hinted at a possible sequel. Joker director Todd Phillips also made some comments about a potential second movie...

According to Phoenix, he and director Todd Phillips discussed potential sequels before Joker had even been released. "Long before the release or before we had any idea if it would be successful, we talked about sequels," Phoenix revealed when speaking to the Los Angeles Times.

The comments were initially made "in jest," but became more serious as they both realized there was more to explore. Phillips also spoke to the Los Angeles Times about a potential sequel, saying that it "couldn’t just be this wild and crazy movie about the 'Clown Prince of Crazy'" and that it would have to have "thematic resonance" like Joker.
