The American president in Love Actually, played by Billy Bob Thornton, is arrogant and unlikable. He is in England on an official state visit in the film.

"Rufus", played by Rowan Atkinson, is a jewelry salesman who is obsessive (and downright hilarious) about a present wrapping ritual (which includes numerous different packaging steps and the addition of freshly crushed dried lavender and sweets). This almost causes "Karen" catching her husband "Harry" while he is trying to buy a necklace for his secretary "Mia".
Rowan Atkinson gives a truly entertaining performance as "Rufus" in Love Actually. Best known for the "Mr Bean" sitcom that he co-created and was the star of, he has also enjoyed great success acting in various films and TV series such as the much-loved Blackadder series, and the Johnny English films.
