This Robin Hood remake will blend live-action and CGI visuals, in a way similar to the recent remakes of Lady and the Tramp and Dumbo

The new remake will also be the latest of several "Robin Hood" films over the past few decades. These were predominantly live-action films, however, featuring stars including Russell Crowe and Taron Egerton.

In comparison with the recent "Robin Hood" remakes, Disney's new version will be unique in that it's a live-action and CGI hybrid. The CGI will allow Disney to once again portray "Robin Hood," "Little John," and "Friar Tuck" as animals - as they were in the 1973 animated film.

Carlos Lopez Estrada (Blindspotting) is attached to direct the film. Figures behind the Lady and the Tramp and Dumbo remakes as well as Tron: Legacy will bring the Disney classic back to life.

Look for "Robin Hood" (as a fox again!) in Disney's freshly announced musical remake. Stay tuned for more details as they come.
