The Wolfman: The classic horror movie gets an update
According to THR, in the new project, Gosling would play a news reporter who turns wolf-like after getting an infection. The movie intends to evoke an atmosphere similar to Network and Jake Gyllenhaal's Nightcrawler.
"The Wolfman" was most famously portrayed by Lon Chaney Jr., first in the 1941 horror classic The Wolf Man and in several other films thereafter. A notable remake was also released in 2010, starring actor Benicio Del Toro in the title role.

Gosling, 39, has appeared somewhat sparingly in films in recent years. His latest project was First Man in 2018, and, prior to that, Blade Runner 2049 in 2017. He'll also once again portray an astronaut in the upcoming space thriller Project Hail Mary.
The Wolfman would be Universal's latest classic horror remake, following its successful reimagining of The Invisible Man earlier this year. Watch for more updates on the reappearance of Hollywood's favourite werewolf.
