Simon Pegg and Nick Frost starred as friends trying to survive a zombie apocalypse in Shaun of the Dead. The popular British comedy-horror parody was directed by Edgar Wright back in 2004.
Now, the stars of the movie have returned with a new social distancing video message. See how their Shaun of the Dead characters would handle the coronavirus and social distancing in the video below.
Shaun of the Dead: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost's coronavirus parody
In Shaun of the Dead, a recurring joke had the characters suggest that they head to the local pub (the Winchester) during the zombie attack. There, they would just wait for the apocalypse to "blow over" while enjoying some drinks.
This scene has been referenced on social media amid the coronavirus outbreak - which perhaps motivated the film's stars to create this new video. But as part of social distancing and outbreak prevention, people have been discouraged from gathering at local restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs.

In the new video, rather than head to the Winchester, Simon Pegg advises his friend (and the viewers): "If you can, stay at home, have a cup of tea, and wait for all this to blow over... We're all in this together. Don't be selfish. Look after each other. Give someone a call if you think they might be lonely." The video then concludes with a joke about toilet paper hoarding.
Pegg and Frost also appeared together in Hot Fuzz and The World's End, both also by Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright. In the years since, Pegg has also appeared in the Mission Impossible franchise, Star Wars, and Star Trek.
