The 30-second trailer previews Colman as Queen Elizabeth II as she speaks in defence of the monarchy. Gillian Anderson, who portrays Margaret Thatcher, is seen in the clip, as is Emma Corrin, who debuts as Princess Diana in the new season.
The Crown: Princess Diana and Prince Charles in season 4
The early view of Diana shows a suffocating experience for the Princess of Wales as she's introduced to the press, and eventually steps out on the day of her royal wedding. Prince Charles and Princess Diana's story is expected to feature prominently in the new season.
Season 4 will be Colman's final season as the Queen, and Corrin's only season as Diana. The new season also arrives nearly one year to the day of season 3, which premiered in November 2019. Royal fans now have less than three months to wait for season 4.
The Netflix royal series recently announced many of its final cast members, who include Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce as the Queen and Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as the final Diana, and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.
