Charlie's Angels is an American television series from the 1970s and 80s. It was a great success, and, for a total of five seasons, fans followed the adventures of the three crime-fighting private detectives "Sabrina Duncan", "Jill Munroe" and "Kelly Garrett" who worked for the mysterious "Charlie" in Los Angeles, California.
The three sexy private eyes were played by Jaclyn Smith ("Kelly"), Farrah Fawcett ("Jill") and Kate Jackson ("Sabrina").
John Forsythe played agency boss "Charlie Townsend", who the "Angels" never meet face to face, but who gives them instructions over a speaker-phone.
Jaclyn Smith played "Kelly Garrett". Nowadays, the 69-year-old still looks stunning. After Charlie's Angels she starred in The District and Christine Cromwell and had a number of TV guest appearances in series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She has been married to surgeon Dr. Brad Allen since 1997.
Farrah Fawcett had her breakthrough playing "Jill Munroe". The gorgeous actress had a very successful career and even appeared in the "Playboy" magazine in 1995. Farrah Fawcett died of cancer at just sixty-two in 2009.
Kate Jackson played "Sabrina Duncan" in Charlie's Angels. She was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her performance in the series. "Sabrina Duncan" was not Kate's only role in the eighties, however...
Kate played housewife and mother "Amanda King", who was hired as a freelancer by the secret service, in Scarecrow and Mrs. King.
Hart to Hart was an American television series that aired from 1979 to 1984. The heroine of the series was "Jennifer Hart", who was played by Stefanie Powers. Along with her millionaire husband "Jonathan" (played by Robert Wagner) the jet set couple become caught up in criminal cases time and time again, and the glamorous pair were forced to play amateur detectives!
Stefanie Powers is seventy-five, but still looks great. She retired from acting in 2000 and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The popular TV show Cagney & Lacey was broadcast from 1981 to 1988 and ran for a total of 126 episodes. Four TV movies were also produced. A police procedural, the show stared Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless as New York City police detectives who lead very different lives: "Christine Cagney" (Gless) was a single, career-minded woman, while "Mary Beth Lacey" (Daly) was a working mother. The series was set in a fictional Manhattan Borough called "Midtown South".
Tyne Daly is now 72 years old and still a successful actress. She most recently starred in the 2017 summer blockbuster Spiderman: Homecoming as Anne-Marie Hoag and she played "Maxine Gray" for six years in the amazingly addictive Judging Amy.
Sharon Gless became a household name playing "Christine Cagney" and still works as an actress today. The now seventy-four-year-old is the proud owner of two Emmys and one Golden Globe. She was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995. Gless had a recurring role as "Chris MacNeil" in the TV series The Exorcist in 2016 and appeared in The Gifted last year.
Angela Lansbury became a household name starring in the cult series Murder, She Wrote. Lansbury played "Jessica Fletcher" for twelve years and was nominated for a Golden Globe ten times and an Emmy an astounding twelve times! She won four, we think very well deserved, Golden Globes for her performance on the hit show.
The actress can look back on a remarkable career. She starred in countless films, TV series and plays. Lansbury was nominated for an Oscar three times. In 2011, she appeared in the film Mr. Popper's Penguins and she will also have a small role in the 2018 Mary Poppins remake.
