It's been fifteen years since Viggo Mortensen last played "Aragorn" in The Return of the King, the last part in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. We've caught up with the talented actor to see what he's up to today.

The now sixty-year-old Danish-American has been working as an actor for more than three decades. He started out playing supporting roles in numerous films, including Portrait of a Lady, Crimson Tide, A Perfect Murder and Psycho. He was nominated for an Academy Award for a second time in 2017 for playing the lead in the very successful independent film Captain FantasticIn 2018, he starred in the Oscar-winning movie Green Book and was again nominated for an Oscar as Best Actor.

Besides working as an actor, Viggo is also a keen music and literature enthusiast and a passionate horseman. When filming for The Lord of the Rings trilogy finished, he decided to buy "his" film horse Uraeus, as they had become quite a team!
