Edward Lewis and Vivian Ward are an odd couple in and of themselves. Lewis, a successful business man, meets the young prostitute Vivian while asking for directions. His feelings for her grow and grow after he hires her hires for the week. They finally get together after a string of unlucky events. This film is definately a classic and still makes us have to suppress a tear or two today.
Casablanca touched audiences all around the world. Rick Blaine has a passionate affair with Illsa Lund. While listening to the song As Time Goes By, he reminisces about when he first met Ilsa and their love affair. Sadly, Ilsa is already married, but this doesn't stop Rick from helping Ilsa and her husband escape. Rick leaves her on the airfield in Casablanca. What a hero!
Even the hardest of heart are reduced to tears when watching the blockbuster Titanic. Jack, who comes from a poor background, wins a ticket to sail onboard the Titanic during a poker game. On board, he meets Rose, who, unfortunately, is already engaged. They fall in love and decide to spend the rest of their lives together. Sadly, their love story sinks along with the famous ship.
In Breakfast at Tiffany's, Partygirl Holly Golightly and Paul Varjak, who she calls Fred, have feelings for each other. Nevertheless, Holly wants to marry a rich man and so ignores her feelings for Fred. But, to the delight of romantics everywhere, the film does have a happy ending, and Fred and Holly are seen dancing to Moon River at the end of the film. What an unforgetable love story!
In Notting Hill, Anna Scott, a famous superstar, meets a the bookstore owner called William Thacker. The two fall in love, but sadly, Anna already has a boyfriend and has to return to the States where he lives. Eventually, she breaks up with her boyfriend and returns to London. At the end of the movie, William asks her how long she'll be staying in London for. She responds, "forever!".
This 80s classic touched audiences everywhere. The love story between Baby and Johnny was not a straight forward one. Johnny loses his job as a dance teacher when their relationship is discovered. He decides to pack his things and leave town, but eventually returns and is reunited with Baby.
Another dance movie to really get those hips going! In the movie Grease, Danny meets innocent Sandy during the summer holidays. However, their summer romance turns out to be far more and after several ups and downs, love conquers all!
