Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee, is first on our list. During production of the movie The Crow, he was accidentally shot by co-star Michael Massee. Due to time delays, the producers decided to use blank ammunition for all the shooting scenes. Later it was revealed that they had left a live bullet inside the chamber leading to Brandon getting shot. He died at the young age of 28.
Another sad Hollywood superstar death was definitely Heath Ledger's in 2008. Whilst filming for his movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the Australian superstar sadly passed away due to a drug overdose. The actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell quickly took over the roles of all three versions of the character "Tony".
Paul Walker is most well-known for his starring role in The Fast and the Furious franchise. Paul tragically passed away in a car accident on November 30th, 2013. His brothers stepped in to finish shooting the Furious 7 movie.
Our next star died over 60 years ago, but his death is still tragic nevertheless. Film icon James Dean died in a race car accident back in 1955. His co-star Nick Adams had to take his place in the last few scenes of the movie Giants. A great loss for Hollywood!
Bruce Lee was another actor who was taken from us way too soon. His big breakthrough would have been the cult classic Enter The Dragon, but sadly before the movie hit theaters in 1973, Lee sadly passed away due to brain swelling in Hong Kong.
Hollywood Legend Natalie Wood became and overnight sensation for her role in West Side Story. Whilst filming for the movie Project Brainstorm, the 43-year-old accidentally fell out of a boat during an excursion and drowned. The movie was finished with the help of a stunt double and voice synchronization.
Another Hollywood icon that died during movie production is none other than the lovely Marilyn Monroe. People still think that she did in fact commit suicide, but it has yet to be confirmed. What we know is that is that Monroe passed away during the production of her last movie Something's Got To Give.
Even the beloved actor Philip Seymour died eight days before finishing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. The actor is said to have overdosed on a variety of hard drugs. Instead of replacing him, the directors decided to rewrite the script to turn his character, "Plutarch Heavensby", into a supporting character.

Kill Bill star David Carradine was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand exactly three days before finishing Stretch. Suicide was speculated for a while until it was discovered that it was actually cardiovascular disease that had killed David.
Who could forget the soap opera star Larry Hagman? He became an overnight sensation with his role as "J.R. Ewing" in the hit soap opera Dallas. During the production of the second season of the Dallas reboot in 2012, he was sadly diagnosed with leukemia and passed away soon after.
Jean Harlow's death came extremely unexpected for most fans. The Hollywood icon collapsed on the set of the movie Saratoga. The actress died approximately one week later from kidney failure at the age of 26. Even though she was eventually replaced by another actress in Saratoga, her performance in the movie is still considered some of her best work.
R'n'B star Aaliyah died way too young. She passed away at the age of 22 in August, 2001.
Moving on to our next Hollywood icon: Tyrone Power. During the fencing scene in his last movie Solomon and Sheba, in which he plays "King Solomon", he suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away on set. His scenes were re-shot with Yul Brynner taking his place as the mighty king. His death came as a shock for fans and critics alike.
Fans of the series "Spartacus" had to say goodbye to Andy Whitefield back in 2011. Whitfield played the leading role in the series was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. He died at the age of 39 in Sydney due to complications of his illness. Liam Mclntyre had to replace him in the second season of the show.
The death of the British actor Oliver Reed caused a lot of problems for Ridley Scott's movie Gladiator back in 2000. Reed died because of a heart attack caused by excessive alcohol consumption. His already filmed scenes were mixed with that of a stunt double to complete the movie.
Our list continues with another surprising Dallas death. Jim Davis was diagnosed with cancer during the production of the fourth season of the hit series. For a while, he continued his role often being seen sitting down and wearing a wig. After his passing in 1981, the character "Jock Ewing" was killed in a terrible helicopter crash.
Last, but not least, we have beloved TV star John Ritter. During auditions for 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, John Ritter suffered severe chest pains and was rushed to the hospital. He died a few days later due to heart failure. His character on the show also died an unexpected death as well.
