Tom Cruise will head to outer space with NASA for an innovative new film. On Tuesday, the organization's administrator, Jim Bridenstine, announced the collaboration on Twitter.

It will be the first narrative feature film shot entirely in outer space.

"NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA’s ambitious plans a reality," Bridenstine tweeted.

The news came with acknowledgement from Elon Musk, who was noted to be attached to the project in a report released a day earlier by Deadline. The SpaceX CEO was seen adding the comment, "Should be a lot of fun!," in a reply to Bridenstine's tweet.

Per the Deadline report, we know that this is not an extension of Cruise's Mission Impossible franchise. No studio is on to produce the movie just yet, either.
