Gad pulled off a truly epic reunion to kick off Reunited Apart! As Entertainment Tonight reports, Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton, and Josh Brolin— plus the rest of the Goonies gang— were reunited to raise money for The Centre for Disaster Philanthropy's coronavirus relief efforts.

The Goonies cast was joined by surprise guests Cyndi Lauper, who sang the theme song for the movie, as well as screenwriter Chris Columbus, director Richard Donner, and executive producer Steven Spielberg! During the reunion, Spielberg even addressed the possibility of a sequel to The Goonies

Goonies potential sequel hasn't landed on an idea that sticks

The Goonies sequel may or may not happen, according to Spielberg. "Every couple of years, we come up with an idea but then it doesn't hold water," he said. "The problem is the bar that all of you raised on this genre, I don't think we've really successfully been able to find an idea that is better than The Goonies that we all made in the '80s".

That's why Spielberg admitted that for now, anyone wanting to get their Goonies fix will just have to revisit the classic movie. "Until we do, people are just going to have to look at this one 100 times," he said.

But if there's one person who wouldn't mind looking at The Goonies 100 times, it's Josh Gad! The host of Reunited Apart is a self-declared Goonies superfan, which he made clear from the get-go. "There is one movie that defines my childhood. One movie that defines my personality. One movie that defines me," he said at the beginning of the video.
