Home Alone is a family Christmas comedy that came out in the early 90's. The plot depicts an eight-year-old boy whose parents accidentally leave him alone at their home when they fly away on Christmas vacation. "Kevin" is left by himself to fend off two burglars from robbing his house.
Macaulay Culkin played the role of "Kevin" in Home Alone. In the beginning, "Kevin" is overjoyed that his family somehow forgot about him. Over time, he starts to get lonely and starts engaging in numerous shenanigans around the house. Nevertheless, his childlike fun comes to an abrupt halt, as two burglars try to break into his house thinking that nobody is home. "Kevin" sees it as his sole duty to defend his house from oncoming harm.
Macaulay Culkin (37) was once one of the most popular child stars in Hollywood. After his success in films like Home Alone and My Girl, his career took a slight turn. He appeared in films such as Richie Rich or The Good Son, but he could never live up to the success of his earlier movies. Lately, Macaulay Culkin has made rather negative headlines usually affiliated with drugs or other mishaps. His marriage to Rachel Minor back in 1998 lasted for about two years. The same thing happened with Mila Kunis in 2002 only this time their relationship lasted 9 years.
"Kevin" was definitely prepared when the burglars finally entered his house. He was able to set up multiple traps, that where in and of themselves quite brilliant. After the two burglars realized that "Kevin" was behind all of their pain and suffering, they decided to attempt to kidnap him instead of robbing his family´s house. At some point, both "Harry" and "Marv" got their hands on the young protagonist and were ready to make their move. Luckily "Kevin´s" neighbor "Marley" saves the day knocking the two unconscious.
While sitting on the plane to Paris, France for the holidays, "Kate" and "Harry McCallister" realize that they've forgotten their youngest son "Kevin" at home in the suburbs of Chicago. While counting her kids she mistakes one of the neighbor's kids for one of her own. Thinking that all of her kids are accounted for, the family boards the plane without hesitation. After realizing that their son is missing, "Kate" tries everything in her power to get back to "Kevin" as quickly as possible.
Catherine O'Hara played the role of loving mother "Kate" in the hit movie Home Alone. She started her acting career in the mid 70's, but later moved on to writing scripts in the mid 80's and even received an Emmy for one of them in 1982. She returned to acting after a short while starring in Emmy nominated movies such as Heartburn and Best of Show. She is still going strong, playing roles in feature films such as Where the Wild Things Are and Kiss & Kill. Interestingly enough, she was also a musician working with the Band Northern Lights for a short period of time. She has been working as a Product Designer since 1992 and is currently married to Bo Welch with whom she has two sons.
John Heard played the role of "Kevin's" Father in the Christmas classic Home Alone. He began his career as an actor back and 1975 and has been in dozens of movies and TV shows since. Heard has played roles in popular series such as The Sopranos, Prison Break and even in Sharknado. Heard has had countless of relationships with different women over the years. He currently has three kids, two of them from his marriage to Sharon Heard and the other one from his relationship with Melisa Leo. John Heard passed away from a heart attack on July 21, 2017.
"Kevin" has four siblings that tease him on the regular. His big brother "Buzz" (the tallest boy in the picture) made life especially difficult for him more than once throughout the movie. On the night before the family´s departure, "Buzz" and "Kevin" get into a huge fight at the dinner table. After the chaos subsides, "Kevin" is sent to sleep in the attic as punishment where he is ultimately forgotten.
Devin Ratray played the role of brother "Buzz" in the movie Home Alone. He had already been in a variety of Movies and TV shows before he was cast for Home Alone, but Home Alone turned out to be his breakthrough role. One of main reasons he was cast for the role as evil brother was because of his intimidating height at the time. After both of the original Home Alone movies, Ratray was given a number of smaller roles in movies and TV Shows like Supernatural and Law and Order. In 2013 Ratray once again dazzled audiences with the movies Nebraska and Blue Rain. Fun Fact: Devin Ratray plays in a band called Little Bill and the Blackleys.
"Harry" and "Marvin" are the criminal duo who break into homes during Christmas time due to the absence of families. "Harry" is even seen visiting the McCallisters the day before their departure dressed in a police uniform to make sure that they would not be home for the holidays. Their plan was to break in to the McCallister family home in the days following their departure. What they did not expect was "Kevin" making their burglary attempt anything but easy...
Joe Pesci (72) played the criminal 'Harry' in the movie Home Alone. Pesci first became famous as a singer in the Band The Four Seasons. In 1976, he made his acting debut in the film Bloody Payday, however he wasn't offered any new roles, which is why he then worked as a bricklayer. In 1980, he celebrated his comeback alongside Robert De Niro in the film Raging Bull, which was nominated for an Academy Award. For his performance in the movie Goodfellas back in 1991 he eventually won an Oscar.
Daniel Stern (60) played "Marv" in Home Alone. Stern has been in front of the camera since 1979 and is most known for his role in Diner (1982). He gained a great part of his fame due to his role in the original Home Alone movies. Overall, Stern has starred in countless films and series throughout the years.
Home Alone (1990) was such a success that producers decided to make a sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, two years later. Again, Macaulay Culkin was able to play the main role. The remaining cast, including the "The Wet Bandits", were also brought back for the second installation of the blockbuster classic. The two films were Macaulay's major achievements. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role as "Kevin" in Home Alone.
