10 Things I Hate About You is a romantic comedy film from the year 1999, based on William Shakespeare's late-16th-century play The Taming of the Shrew. The film, however, was directed by Gil Junger.
Heath Ledger played "Patrick" who is told to take "Kat", played by Julia Stiles, on a date. Even though he is paid to take "Kat" out, "Patrick" starts to fall for her. However, when "Kat" discovers that "Patrick" has received money for taking her out, she storms out leaving him alone at their prom. After her dramatic exit, she reads out a poem in class declaring her feelings for "Patrick". In the end, "Kat" and "Patrick" put their argument behind them and he buys her a guitar with the money he was paid for their dates.
Julia Stiles began her career at the age of eleven as a theatre actress. Joseph Gordon-Levitt played the role of "Cameron" who is new at the school and falls for "Bianca" (Larisa Oleynik). As "Bianca" is only allowed to go out to prom with a date if her older sister "Kat" (Julia Stiles) goes too, "Cameron" and his friend "Michael" (David Krumholtz) convince "Joey" (Heath Ledger) to go to prom with "Kat", by paying him. At first, the plan is useless for "Cameron" as "Bianca" keeps being interested in "Joey". In the end, however, "Cameron" and "Bianca" find each other.

He has starred in countless films other than 10 Things I Hate About You including Santa Claus and This is the End. He has also appeared in a number of TV series such as E.R., Law & Order and The Newsroom. Krumholtz was also a main member of the Numb3rs cast from 2005 to 2010. "Bianca", played by Larissa Oleynik, accompanies "Cameron" to the prom, though she is more interested in handsome "Joey" at first. Once at the prom, she realizes that "Joey" is only interested in trying to get her into bed. Gabrielle Union plays "Bianca's" best friend "Chastity".
Gabrielle Union first started studying law, but then changed universities enabling her to pursue her passion for football. There she graduated with a degree in sociology.
