The Waltons aired from 1972 till 1981. There were 9 seasons produced in total that consisted of 221 episodes. The main plot is about the "Walton" family and their hard life during the market crisis until the end of the second World War...
The show mainly focuses on "John-Boy Walton", who chronicles all the stories about his family’s life in his personal diary. The series‘ original inspiration had been Earl Hamnor‘s rural childhood. He had grown up in Schuyler, Virginia in the middle of nowhere.
The shy young chronicler "John-Boy" has a pretty tight relationship with his Grandma "Esther", embodied by the one and only Ellen Corby.
Richard Thomas is still an busy actor, featuring in movies and series like Law & Order and Billions. Just like his character on the show, Thomas has a huge family of his own nowadays. He‘s not only the father of triplets, but also has two more children. Richard Thomas‘ on-screen grandmother Ellen Corby unfortunately passed away in 1999. Ellen had won three Emmys and one Golden Globe Award.
Grandpa "Zeb", embodied by Will Geer, is a grandfather by the book! He loves his grandchildren with all his heart and always helps them with whatever they need. Here, he is pictured selling lemonade with "Jim-Bob" (David W. Harper) and "Elizabeth" (Kami Cotler).
Sadly, Will Geer, who’d played Grandpa "Sam", already died in 1978. Kami Cotler who embodied "Elizabeth" turned her back on acting and became a principal instead. What the kids might think about her when finding out their principal is a former TV-star?
The eldest daughter "Mary-Ellen" (left), embodied by Judy Norton Taylor, marries the doctor "Curtis 'Curt' Willard" and attends medical school later on. Her sister "Erin" (right), played by Mary Elizabeth McDonough, is a tiny little bit more sober-minded than her older sister.
The beautiful "Mary-Ellen"-actress Judy Norton got naked for the "Playboy" magazine in 1985. Nowadays, she‘s running a restaurant chain with her husband and is a vocal member of Scientology.
In 2011, Mary McDonough published her book called "Lessons from the Mountain" which is about her time playing "Erin" in The Waltons. Nowadays, McDonough is active in the media with different radio an internet shows.
They were exemplary parents and a super team: "Olivia Walton" and her husband "John" raised their kids in a strict but affectionate way!

She received the name "Michael", because her father had firmly counted on a male successor. When his child turned out to be a girl, he decided to give her male name anyway. Michael Learned kept on acting as well as many of her former "Walton" co-stars. Since 1988, Learned is happily married to her third husband, the lawyer John Doherty.

"Jason" (Jon Walmsley), pictured with his sister "Mary-Ellen" (Judy Norton Taylor) has been a musician with heart and soul since he had been just a little boy. He eventually starts performing in an establishment, which his mother does not deem appropriate, and she is worried about her son!
After his time embodying "Jason" in The Waltons, Jon Walmsley continued working as an actor and voice actor. On top of that, Walmsley began a career as a composer as well. By now, he is a stage and studio veteran!
This picture shows "Ben" (Eric Scott, right) with his brother "Jim-Bob" (lDavid W. Harper, left). At first, "Ben" doesn‘t really know what to do with his life and where he sees himself in the future. Later on, he inherits his father’s lumber mill and marries "Cindy" (Leslie Winston).
"Ben Walton" actor Eric Scott appeared in series like Bewitched and The Fall Guy after The Waltons had ended, but he never managed to really get a career going...
David Harper’s retreat from the movie business ended up being not a choice rather than a necessity: Just like his former co-star Eric Scott, he did not have any more success in acting, so he decided to quit the business.
